If you have a large home or a fancy/powerful wifi setup you may wish to use that instead of KoalaSafe’s inbuilt WIFI.
This is not what the KoalaSafe (KS) is designed for and requires technical knowledge of setting up networks/configuring routers.
You will need
- WIFI Access Point(s) that can be setup to not be a router, often called AP or Bridge Mode (i.e. operate on layer 2)
- Internet Connection/Modem that is a router
Modem --> KoalaSafe --> WIFI AP’s
Connect the WAN port on the KoalaSafe to your modem.
Connect the WAN/Internet port of your WIFI AP to the LAN Port on the KoalaSafe
If your WIFI AP is acting as a router, KoalaSafe will not be able to detect the devices on your network. Everyone will be treated the same, you will not be able to setup custom profiles per device
The ability to turn off the KoalaSafe’s Wireless network has not yet been released, but is coming.
