I am thinking of purchasing a koalasafe access point. I would like to set it up connected like this:
- modem + router + switch
- Koalasafe (LAN)
5a. Two xbox One consoles / Desktop PC
5b. Wireless AP (connected to a variety of wireless devices)
The first question is, will this setup work? I basically want to protect my existing wired/wireless network and be able to create device profiles to limit access. I only have one router in the network which does all the DHCP etc…
The second question is, will the performance be impacted with the KoalaSafe added into the network? I have 70mbps internet link (being increased to 100mbps soon) and I understand that the LAN switch is only 100mbps. I am keen not to cause latency issues with the two xboxes and don’t want to have any noticeable slow down for all the wireless devices (6 iphones, some android tablets, a laptop and a couple of amazon fire sticks, etc…).
It feels like I might asking a lot from the KoalaSafe? Has it been load tested to get an idea of it’s limitations?
Please let me know if you think the KoalaSafe will work for my use case?
Thanks in advance,
