The new version of analytics allows you to see reports based on how long profiles have used certain apps and sites i.e. YouTube for 1 Hour. At the moment, it shows you the current week only.
It’s important to understand that multiple apps or sites can be used simultaneously. I.e. Social Media usage may be 1 hour and Video usage maybe 30 minutes but the total usage for the day may only be 1 hour.
Enable the feature
To enable it, visit http://app.koalasafe.com go to settings --> Beta Features and enable Analytics.
It is currently only available in the web app.
To view go to a profile and select Usage.
The blue column represents the selected day. Click another day to refresh the screens data
From the main page you can select a Category such as Social Media to see the usage breakdown for that category.
One of the difficulties of duration based reporting is idenitfying when a person is using the internet and when the device is using the internet in the background. Some categories are ignored by the system as they are known to be the device or app using the internet in the background. You can also ignore an app or category if you don’t want it counted to the usage. Skype and spotify are examples of noisy apps you may want to ignore.
To ignore an app or category swipe left on it and select Ignore. It will then appear in the ignored list (swipe left to unignore)
If you drill down all the way to an app/site you will reach the history (for the selected day) You can also click the Pulse Icon at any level to see all the history for the day or selected category. It shows what time of the day usage occurred.
In the example screenshot the filter is set to only show Allowed usage. To see what is being ignored or blocked, unselect allowed (goes white) and select blocked or ignored (will go black)
